Frances Tarlton "Sissy" Farenthold (born October 2, 1926) is an American politician, attorney, activist, and educator. She is a member of the Democratic Party. She is best known for her two campaigns for the office of Governor of Texas and for being placed in nomination for the office of Vice President of the United States during the 1972 Democratic National Convention. ==Early life and education== Farenthold was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on October 2, 1926. She graduated from Vassar College in 1946. In 1949, she graduated from the University of Texas School of Law. She was one of only three women in a class of 800. Farenthold comes from a line of lawyers and judges. Her grandfather, Judge Benjamin D.
